There is a big difference between a "barn find" parked a year or two ago and has some strategic dust on the bonnet for the photos, and the real deal. This Series 1 was found buried outdoor under dense natural ecosystems in a field in the unforgiving wet climate of Ireland. A touch of rust you say? More like a touch or metal... left. This was a massive job, and very much starting with just trying to rescue the Land Rover and extricate it from its near terminal graveyard.
The result of many months of rigorous fabrication, welding, sourcing the right parts, and incremental progress towards getting it right, this very early 80" came to life and is now used regularly as a daily driver. It's maiden voyage was a two-up roadtrip to the world famous Great Dorset Steam Fair in southern England, a 1000km test of it's robustness via the beautiful mountain roads of Wales. It never skipped a beat.
